Just to be crystal clear here, I didn’t vote for Trump. He was a shitty President in his first term and I’m sure he’ll be a shitty President in his second term. The fact that he’s actually nominating Gaetz for AG really tells you all you need to know in this regard. I also didn’t vote for Harris, mostly because she’s clueless, ran an awful campaign, and would be every bit as bad as Trump (in different ways, to be sure), if not much worse had she won the election. And Biden has been awful, as well. It is really unbelievable that the two major political parties in this country have delivered utterly dreadful candidates for President for three elections in a row, now.
But I’m getting distracted from my main point, that the apparent unlimited angst being expressed over a Trump Presidency is fundamentally reflective of an unhealthy level of narcissism and a detachment from reality that apparently inflicts a large swath of the population who—not uncoincidentally—spend a great deal of their time in the world of social media (X, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc.).
Let me be clear here: NOBODY GIVES A SHIT IF YOU LEAVE TWITTER. And those social media accounts you follow, the political ones whose posts you’re liking and sharing every day, THEY’RE ALL RUN BY GRIFTING PIECE OF SHIT ASSHOLES. Doesn’t matter if they’re on the right or on the left, they’re not keeping you informed, they’re pushing your buttons for click, likes, and shares to make money. Go touch some grass, get on with actual reality.

Okay, I know there ARE real issues to worry about with Trump in power (there have been for the last four years and would have been with Harris in office, they’re just not the same ones). But if your concern is a product of believing Trump is a fascist/authoritarian/dictator, you need to ground yourself. You really do. When George Bush was President (the son, not the father), supposedly intelligent people were writing articles and making lists to show how Bush was a fascist. Similarly, other people were doing the same for Obama (to show how he was a communist/socialist). And in both cases, these leaders were going to change our government and society completely. And both were far more capable and effective that Trump, Biden, or (LMFAO) Harris.
So again, get on with it (life).
